Guidelines for Development of Key Generic Technologies Released

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China recently issued Guidelines for Development of Key Generic Technologies (2017 Edition) to propel Made in China 2025 strategy, promote supply-side reform and strengthen China’s innovation ability.
The document sets forth 174 key generic technologies that will be developed preferentially. In detail, 53 technologies are related to raw materials; 33, equipment manufacturing; 36, electronic information and communication; 27, consumer goods; 25, energy conservation, environmental protection and comprehensive utilization of resources.
Twelve petrochemical technologies are listed in the document, regarding production of adiponitrile with butadiene, production of propylene oxide using HPPO process, production of 100 000 t/a DMMn, production of waterborne polyurethane resin (including downstream applications), direct polymerization of high melt strength polypropylene, high-performance chlor-alkali perfluorinated ionic membrane, etc.
