Zhejiang to Build Big Data Platform to Prevent Risks of Hazardous Chemicals

Zhejiang Administration of Work Safety recently issued Work Plan to Establish Big Data Platform to Prevent Risks of Hazardous Chemicals in Zhejiang Province, which calls for building the platform within around half a year in three stages, August-October 2017, November-December 2017 and January-March 2018. The platform will cover the entire province and make information about hazardous chemicals open to industry players, including firms producing or storing hazardous chemicals, enterprises and filling stations using hazardous chemicals, etc.
In the first stage, the provincial government will investigate risks of hazardous chemicals producers, establish safety risk databases and distribution maps, and conduct safety risk log management. In the second stage, the plan calls for searching out risks in hazardous chemicals storage firms, and enterprises and filling stations using hazardous chemicals. Further, safety risk databases and distribution maps are to be completed. In the third stage, safety risk investigation systems will be fully implemented and safety risk log management will be conducted for hazardous chemical storage firms and consumers. Finally, a provincial safety risk database and distribution map will be established via integrating municipal data with data from the provincial hazardous chemicals registration center.
