Blue Ridge Tunhe Chemical Starts Construction of New Biomaterial Plant

Xinjiang Blue Ridge Tunhe Chemical Industry began construction of a new biomaterial industrial park in Changji National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. With a total investment of RMB9.2 billion, the plant will realize a sales revenue of RMB3.43 billion and total pre-tax profit of RMB350 million upon completion. Phase I of the project will cost RMB1.98 billion.
The project is to build China’s first research and production base of bio-based raw materials, new biomaterials and downstream products, which will focus on completely biodegradable PBS. The industrial park is divided into autonomous construction areas and cooperative construction areas, including 10 key projects and 13 cooperative and investment projects.
By the end of the “Fourteenth Five-Year” period, a number of projects, including 400 000 t/a PBS, 400 000 t/a PET, 180 000 t/a PBT and 50 000 t/a specialty polyester will be completed in the autonomous construction areas.
