According to the announcement, phase I construction will begin before September 30 this year, and the plant will be put into operation in 2018. Phase II construction will be carried out according to market performance. Upon completion of the project, Tongwei will have a total silicon capacity of 120 000 t/a, plus the existing 20 000 t/a silicon plant in Leshan, Sichuan province and the 50 000 t/a plant now under construction in Kundulun.
