CPCIF Recognizes Top Energy-efficient Firms of 2016

2016’s front runners in energy-efficiency were named at China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) grand event in Dongying city July 18-19. Producers of 17 products (classified into 29 varieties) like ethylene, methanol and synthetic ammonia, were considered for the awards. New evaluation creteria, based on the nation’s newest standards for energy consumption per unit of product, are more normative and reasonable than those in the past.
These front runners are models of energy-efficiency improvement. In 2016, total energy consumption of China’s petroleum and chemical industry grew 1.3% YoY, the slowest pace in history, down 1.6 percentage points YoY (chemical sector, up 1% YoY, down 2.2 percentage points YoY). Further, energy consumption per RMB10 000 of industrial added value fell 5.3% YoY, saving energy equivalent to around 31.35 million tons of standard coal, and the water reuse increased to 92.6%.
