GCL-Poly Starts Building New 60 000 t/a Poly-Si Plant

GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Limited, a leading manufacturer of polysilicon and solar silicon wafers, has signed a number of construction contracts for building a 60 000 t/a polysilicon plant in Xinjiang, China, according to news on June 21.
The whole project includes a polysilicon plant with a total capacity of 60 000 t/a, consisting of 40 000 t/a new capacity and 20 000 t/a relocated capacity. The company plans to move its current plant in Xuzhou to Xinjiang at a cost of US$832 million.
GCL-Poly said it has signed a number of contracts with several construction companies, with a total value over US$200 million so far.
