Methyl-carbonate Project and Downstream Series of Projects Set for Yueyang

Recently, Taizhoushi Suyang Gas development Co., Ltd. and Yueyang Green Chemical Industrial Park signed a cooperation intention agreement for developing methyl-carbonate and a series of projects in downstream industries.
The projects are planned for Changling Area of Yueyang Green Chemical Industrial Park. The total investment of the projects is RMB1.5 billion with 80 acres of land in the first phase, to construct a plant capable of producing 60 000 t/a of methyl-carbonate and 48 000 t/a of propanediol; and to construct another plant capable of 100 000 t/a of polycarbonate in the second phase, to fill in the gaps in the strategic layout of the industrial chain in central and southwest China.
Construction will extend down the industrial chain to propylene oxide; at the same time, the co-production of propanediol can supply raw material to a polyether plant with capacity of 100 000 t/a, to be co-constructed by Xingchang Petro-chemical and Gaoqiao Petrochemical, achieving supply of products and raw materials within the park.
