A Number of New Criteria to Come to Protect Environment

The Ministry of Environmental Protection of China (MOEP) is to issue around 800 new standards from 2016 to 2020 to enrich current rules and correct shortcomings, MOEP announced recently. Some of existing standards are to be revised, especially those for discharge of pollutants that have become effective for more than five years.
New standards for environmental quality include mainly soil environmental quality standards for agricultural and construction land, sea water quality standards, evaluation standards for quality of offshore areas’ ecology environment, evaluation guidelines for in-car air quality, standards for noise around the airport and vibration standards in urban regions.
Major new standards for discharge of pollutants from stationary sources involve mainly pesticides, electronic, coatings, dyes and livestock breeding industries; discharge standards for pollutants from moving sources apply mainly to light and heavy vehicles, marine engines, motorcycles and non-road moving machineries.
