On April 17, 2017, Transneft Diascan conducted cooperation talks with Sonatrach, a government-owned oil and gas company of Algeria, at NAPEC 2017 (North Africa Petroleum Exhibition & Conference) that took place in Oran (Algeria) on 21–24 March. The talks were attended by Arbi-Bey Slimane, Deputy CEO of Sonatrach, and Oulhadj Abdelkader, Pipeline Integrity Management Director. Denis Serdyukov, Deputy Director of Department of Foreign Economic Relations at Transneft, and Vyacheslav Ogurtsov, Head of External Projects Management Directorate at Transneft Diascan, represented the Russian company.
The parties discussed opportunities for Transneft Diascan’s inline inspections at the Algerian company’s facilities.
During the talks, Transneft and Sonatrach also signed a memorandum recording key results of the visit the Algerian company’s delegation paid to Russia in January 2017. It was Sonatrach management’s inception visit to Transneft Diascan where the guests were shown the manufacturing and process capabilities of the business, namely, the inline inspection tools (PIGs, geometry tools, and defectoscopes), the testing ground, the data processing and analysis centre, and the polyurethane and composites production shops. The Algerian company’s delegation highly praised the inspection equipment shown, noted the tools diversity, and the complete production cycle, representing stages from tool development to fabrication of parts for assembly and subsequent repairs of the equipment.
