Dow Coating Materials Showcases Enhanced Innovation Capabilities at Chinacoat 2009

The newly formed Dow Coating Materials (DCM) debuted at Chinacoat 2009 November 18th - 20th after Dow acquired Rohm and Haas. At the show, DCM clearly showed its development in sustainable products, providing local solutions and enhancing its innovation capabilities.
"With local R & D center establishment and two teams moving together in Shanghai, 25% of our architectural coating sales in China is now from the new products developed locally," added Helen Zhang, General Manager, Dow Coating Materials, North Asia.
Clearly the coatings industry is driving towards more sustainable products and technologies that also offer improved performance and functionality. Low VOC/odor products with high stain resistance from DCM that also have additional functionality such as formaldehyde absorption or anti-bacterial properties are good examples. The company says.
The Dow Chemical Company has recently been appointed as an official sponsor of the USA Pavilion at the World Expo Shanghai 2010, exclusive in the Chemicals and Materials Sciences categories. DCM is also discussing the possibility of providing environmentally-friendly interior coatings for the US National Pavilion.
