Celanese and Jiangwei Partner to Implement Advanced Technology in China     

Celanese Corporation announced on November 3rd a long-term agreement with Jiangxi Jiangwei High-Tech Stock Co., Ltd. to supply vinyl acetate monomer, an essential chemical compound used in a wide variety of industrial and consumer products.
   The partnership supports Celanese's ongoing effort to expand its customer base in China and develop innovative solutions for the industries it serves. China chemical producers are actively looking to increase quality, enhance safety of operations and reduce environmental impact. The long-term partnership between Celanese and Jiangwei addresses these critical issues. In comparison to calcium carbide-based alternatives, Celanese's VAntage Plus TM Vinyl Acetate Monomer technology reduces greenhouse gas emissions by more than one-third, cuts total waste generation by more than 85%, is completely free of other types of waste, and provides significant process safety advantages.
