PetroChina Recorded Drop for Q3 2009    

On October 28th, PetroChina Company Limited (PetroChina, HK: 0857; NYSE: PTR; SH: 601857) posted the operating results for the third quarter of 2009 and said the records showed much better than the earlier expectation.
    Under the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), PetroChina reported the net profit attributable to its equity owners was RMB30.847 billion in the third quarter of 2009, a decrease of 23.5% from RMB40.114 billion in the same period of 2008. And the revenue fell 12.1% to RMB267.74 billion for Q3 2009 from RMB304.55 billion in Q3 2008. EPS was 0.17.
    In the first nine months of 2009, PetroChina produced 631 million barrels of crude oil, down 3.7% from 652.6 million barrels of crude oil in the same period of 2008. And the company manufactured 1 524.8 billion cubic feet of natural gas, a year-on-year increase of 11.3%.
   During January to September 2009, the company processed 607 million barrels of crude, down 5.5% from 642.5 million barrels a year earlier, and produced 53.91 million tons of gasoline, diesel and kerosene, down 3% from 55.597 million tons.
   In parallel, PetroChina produced 2.049 million tons of ethylene, up 3.4% year-on-year.
