MOC Announces Initial Ruling on Imported Adipic Acid      

The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced June 26th its determination in adipic acid (AA, HS code: 29171200) originated from the United States of America, the European Union and Korea.
   The MOC made an initial determination, finding that AA from above mentioned countries and region were dumped into China, and under such conditions to threaten China's AA industry.
   As a result of the determination, the MOC takes an antidumping measure on the case effective June 27th, 2009. All importers, when importing AA, must pay a deposit to the Chinese customs. The deposit ratios for respective sources of AA are as follows:
Korea:
   Rhodia Polyamide Co. Ltd.    6.0%
   Asahi Kasei Chemicals Korea Co.    5.7%
   All Others    16.7%
EU:
   Radici Chimica S.p.A    11.3%
   Radici Chimica Deutshland GMBH    11.3%
   BASF SE    18.1%
   All Others    30.3%
USA:
   Solutia Inc.    16.8%
   All Others    35.4%

   China instituted a dumping investigation on AA on November 10th, 2008. (CCR2008 No. 33)
