China Institutes Investigation on Imported Methanol     

China institutes a dumping investigation on imported methanol (HS code: 29051100) originated from Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Indonesia and New Zealand, effective June 24th, 2009, the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) released on June 24th.
   MOC determines the investigation by a report submitted May 4th by domestic leading methanol makers on behalf of the domestic methanol industry, including Shanghai Coking and Chemical Corporation, Inner Mongolian Yuanxing Energy Co., Ltd., Yankuang Lunan Fertilizer Plant, Yankuang Cathay Chemical Co., Ltd., Pingmei Lantian Chemical Co., Ltd., Qujing Dawei Coking Gas Manufacture & Supply Co., Ltd., Shaanxi Yulin Natural Gas Chemical Co., Ltd., Lutianhua Luyuan Alcohol Co., Ltd., China Coal Longhua Harbin Coal Chemical Industry Co., ,Ltd., Shanxi Danfeng Chemical Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Jinju Chemical Co., Ltd. under Juhua Group, Hebei Zhengyuan Chemical Group Co., Ltd., Anhui Linquan Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. and Anhui Haoyuan Chemical (Group) Co., Ltd.
   The duration of dumping investigation is set from April 1st, 2008 to March 31st, 2009 while the term of infringement investigation ranges from January 1st, 2006 to March 31st, 2009.
   MOC says the investigation is set to end before June 24th, 2010 in general or December 24th, 2010 with special conditions.
