LANXESS Appoints GM of Specialty Chemicals Company Shanghai     

LANXESS AG has appointed Natalie Chen as General Manager of LANXESS Specialty Chemicals Company Limited, Jinshan, Shanghai.
    The company is a legal entity newly established in September 2008 following the successful acquisition of the plant in Jinshan - the largest and most modern plant for yellow iron oxide pigments in China. It is a 100% subsidiary of LANXESS Shanghai Pigments Company Limited.
    LANXESS Greater China achieved roughly EUR 500 million in 2008 sales adjusted for portfolio and currency effects, up about 15% from the previous year, which was mainly driven by high demand from the tire industry in the first three quarters of 2008.
    LANXESS earned sales of around EUR 6.58 billion in 2008, with around 15 000 staff in 21 countries and operations at 44 sites worldwide.
