Court Sentences Criminals for Pharma Technology Theft Case      

Hangzhou Xinfu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Xinfu, SZ: 002019) disclosed in December 2008 filing the court ruling against seven criminals who stolen the company's core technologies and sabotaged its operations.
   Shandong Xinfa Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. assigned a staffer to Zhejiang province, who suborned several Xinfu employees to obtain the core technology used in producing vitamin B5.
   Xinfu has asked for compensation of RMB75 million.
   Recently, the court in Lin'an, Zhejiang province, where Xinfu is headquartered, imposed sentence on seven criminals, including six former Xinfu employees.
   Xinfu engages in the manufacture and sales of vitamin B5 and their derivatives. According to its 2007 annual reports, vitamin B5 (D-calcium pantothenate) contributed to 89.74% of its core business revenue. As it owns the patent right technology, Xinfu's annual vitamin B5 production increased five times and has become the world's leading producer. As reflected, its stock was among the best-performing in 2008 and 2007 in the Chinese stock market.
