Celanese Presents Emulsion Polymers for Environmentally-Friendly Coatings

On November 21st, 2007 at ChinaCoat 2007 in Shanghai, Celanese underscored its commitment to the Chinese paint and coatings market, presenting a broad range of emulsion polymers for interior and exterior architectural finishes that deliver reduced environmental impact.
Key aspects of that commitment include: the new chemical complex in Nanjing featuring an emulsion polymers facility, the new Technology Center in Shanghai and the continuing introduction of new technologies to meet the need for high performance environmentally-friendly coatings of all kinds.
Products featured at the Celanese booth included Celvolit (R) 1602, a vinyl acetate/ethylene (VAE) copolymer emulsion for low emission interior decorative paints, two acrylate-based products for low-VOC interior water-based wood coatings (Celvolit (R) 7620 and Celvolit (R) 7605) and Celvolit (R) Nano 9620, cutting-edge emulsions technology specifically designed for durable and dirt-resistant exterior paint.
According to Kevin Wu, Commercial Director for Emulsions in Asia, Celanese's goal is to help China's paint manufacturers formulate coatings that are more ecologically sound.
Celanese has one of the broadest emulsion technology portfolios in the industry. These include vinyl acetate/ethylene (VAE) polymers, vinyl acrylic polymers, vina-VeoVa (R) polymers and 100% acrylic polymers. These emulsion polymers offer a number of important functional properties to coatings formulations.
