10 000 t/a Carbon Fiber Project Kicks off     

On October 30th, 2007 construction on the 10 000 t/a carbon fiber project was started in Lianyungang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Jiangsu province.
    The project with a total investment of RMB3 billion is jointly invested by China Composites Group Co., Ltd., Lianyungang Yingyou Textile Machinery Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Aoshen Group Co., Ltd.
    The first phase of the project with an investment of RMB650 million has a production capacity of 3 000 t/a carbon fiber, and is expected to be completed and go on stream by the end of 2008.
    Owing to its excellent properties such as low density, great strength and high-temperature resistance, carbon fiber is extensively used in spaceflight, aviation, communication and textile sectors.
