Qingdao Seawater Desalination Unit Starts Production    

On October 23rd, 2007 the 10 000 t/d reverse osmosis seawater desalination unit of Shandong Huangdao Power Plant went on stream.
    Huangdao Power Plant is a big water consumer using 12 000 tons of fresh water a day. Water needed in the plant is mainly from municipal tap water and self-prepared water sources. Huangdao Power Plant has made investments to develop seawater desalination technology in recent years. In June 2004, Huangdao Power Plant started up a 3 000 t/d low-temperature multi-effect seawater desalination facility designed and manufactured by the plant itself. With the completion of the 10 000 t/d seawater desalination unit, Huangdao Power Plant has already totally used the water through seawater desalination.
