Pangang Group Kicks off Sponge Titanium Project       

On October 10th, 2007 the sponge titanium project of Pangang Group Steel City Enterprises Company was launched in Panzhihua Vanadium & Titanium Industrial Park, Sichuan province.
    The total investment of the project is planned to be RMB490 million and the construction period is expected to be 18 months. It will produce 5 000 tons of sponge titanium and generate a sales revenue of around RMB700 million a year. The project has advanced process technology and can be matched to the high titanium residue plant and the chlor-alkali plant in the company. Cleanness and environmental protection can be achieved in the production.
   The project can fully use the titanium ore advantage in southwestern China and promote the comprehensive utilization of titanium and the further development of the titanium sector.
