Methanol Project Passes Acceptance Appraisal      

On October 16th, 2007  the 600 000 t/a methanol project, jointly invested by China BlueChemical Ltd. , a subsidiary of CNOOC (China National Offshore Oil Corporation) and Hong Kong Kingboard Chemical Group, passed the acceptance appraisal.
    Located in Dongfang Chemical City of Hainan province, this single methanol unit has the largest design capacity in China today.
    The methanol project was put into trial production in September 2006. (CCR 2006, No.27)
    BlueChemical focuses on the production of ammonia, urea and methanol. It is one of the largest and most efficient producers of nitrogenous fertilizers in China, with its plants that are conveniently located to serve both domestic and oversea markets and that benefit from close proximity to energy sources and from secure and stable feedstock supplies.
