Jilin 3 000 t/a Alcohol Demonstration Project      

On September 28th, 2007 the sweet sorghum stalk based alcohol demonstration project in Jilin Fuel Alcohol Co., Ltd. was launched in Dongtai, Yancheng of Jiangsu province.
   Jilin Fuel Alcohol Co., Ltd., located in Jilin city, Jilin province of northeastern China, is the first large fuel alcohol producer in China. The company has made active exploration into the diversification of raw materials to enhance core competitive edge.
   Sweet sorghum is a variant of conventional sorghum. Major components of its stalk include sugar, starch and cellulose. While making a full use of the rich sugar content in the stalk of sweet sorghum, comprehensive utilization of its scraps can also be conducted to generate higher economic benefits.
   The construction of the project has an investment of RMB65.0 million and the project is expected to be completed and go on stream at the end of 2007.
