Shandong Kingenta:On September 9th, 2007 Shandong Kingenta Group held the ground breaking ceremony of a 1 million t/a controlled release compound fertilizer project in Kingenta Heze Branch located in Heze Economic Development Zone, Shandong province. The first-phase of the project is planned to be completed at the end of 2008. Covering an area of over 66 hectares, the whole project with a total investment of RMB750 million is scheduled to start production in 2010. After completion, a sales revenue of RMB2 billion can be achieved from the 1 million t/a project per year. In addition, a 300 000 t/a controlled-release fertilizer project started production in Shandong Kingenta on March 4th, 2006. (CCR2006, No.11)   Shandong Kingenta Group is engaged in the R&D, manufacturing and marketing of compound fertilizer, slow/controlled release fertilizer, and other new fertilizers.LSTDC:Qinhuangdao Leading Science & Technology Development Co., Ltd. (LSTDC) recently started construction on a 100 000 t/a bio-diesel project in Qinhuangdao, Hebei province. The project makes use of bio-enzyme process, which converts wasted animal and vegetable oil to diesel through biological reaction. Compared with common diesel, the emission amount of carbon dioxide and sulfur by using this kind of bio-diesel for cars can be reduced by 90%.
