Zhonghai Chemical: Epichlorohydrin Project

Construction on an 80 000 t/a epichlorohydrin project was
recently started in Zhanhua Economic Development Zone, Bingzhou,
Shandong province. The project is undertaken by Zhonghai Fine
Chemical Co., Ltd., a company jointly established by Dongying
Zhonghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd. and Zhanhua Haiming Chemical
Co., Ltd. (Haiming Chemical) The total investment of the project
is planned to be RMB800 million and the project will be completed
at the end of 2007.
   It is reported that Haiming Chemical has also decided to
construct an 80 000 t/a ion-membrane caustic soda unit to provide
around 170 000 tons of chlorine to Zhonghai Fine Chemical Co.,
Ltd. a year.  
    Haiming Chemical is one of the enterprises wholly owned by
Shandong Runxing Investment Group. Products include
chlor-alkali and azo product series.
