400 000 T/A Sulfuric Acid Project Makes Ignition

On June 28th, 2007 the first phase of 800 000 t/a sulfuric acid
project successfully made ignition in Tongguan Metallurgical
Chemical Branch Company that is located in Tongling Nonferrous
Metals Cyclic Economy Industry Park, Tongling, Anhui province.
It suggests that Tongguan Metallurgical Chemical Branch of
Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Holdings Co., Ltd. started the
trial production. With a total investment of around RMB3.5
billion, Tongling Nonferrous Metals Cyclic Economy Industry
Park is a major chemical industry park invested by Tongguan
Metallurgical Chemical Branch Company. With an investment of
RMB401 million, construction on the first-phase 400 000 t/a
sulfuric acid project was started on August 1st, 2006.
   The 800 000 t/a sulfuric acid project is made up of two 400
000 t/a sulfuric acid production lines and makes use of pyrite
in Donggua Mountain as the raw material to manufacture acid after
roasting process. All key facilities in the project adopt the
technologies imported from Outokumpu Technology Corporation of
Finland.
