BBMA Kicks off Inorganic Antibacterial Agent Production Line

Construction on the first 1 000 t/a inorganic antibacterial
agent production line in China was recently started in Beijing
Building Materials Academy (BBMA). Production is expected to be
started at the end of 2007.
    BBMA developed an inorganic antibacterial agent with
natural meso-porous materials as carriers in 2005 and therefore
solved the core technical problems of low capacity and small
volume in ion exchange. The stripping rate of antibacterial
components can also be controllable. Different antibacterial
durations and effects can be achieved according to different
service lives and application environments of antibacterial
products.
   The completion of the 1 000 t/a production line of such
antibacterial agent with zinc ion as effective antibacterial
component has removed the defects of high cost, poor stability
and color change with metal ion antibacterial products. Silver
ion inorganic antibacterial agent and zinc ion inorganic
antibacterial agent recently has passed the appraisal by Beijing
Municipal Science & Technology Commission.
