HLSCC Conducts Trial Production of Sulfuric Acid Project

The zinc concentrate based sulfuric acid project in Hengyang
Longfeng Smelting & Chemical Company Ltd. made ignition and
trial production in Hengnan County, Hengyang, Hunan province on
May 22nd, 2007.
   The existing fluidized-bed furnace and matched sulfuric acid
system in the company was constructed in 1992. Due to obsolete
equipment and outdated process, it was included last year in
major technical renovation projects of Hunan during the Eleventh
Five-year Program period (2006-2010). The technical renovation
was launched in September 2006 and the total investment was RMB15
million. The zero emission of waste water and waste gases is
basically achieved. After the completion of the project, 50 000
tons of industrial sulfuric acid and 30 000 tons of zinc fused
sand can be produced per year and the production value can reach
RMB800 million a year.
