CNCEC Yiye Starts 600 000 T/A Methanol Project

On June 5th, 2007 Shaanxi CNCEC (China National Chemical
Engineering Group Corporation) Yiye Energy Investment
Corporation started to construct the first phase of the 2.4
million t/a MTO (methanol-to-olefins) project - 600 000 t/a
methanol and some related projects in Yuheng Coal Chemical
Industry Park, Yulin, Shaanxi province. With high-quality coal
reserve as the raw material, the first-phase methanol,
thermoelectric and coal mine projects have a total investment
of RMB4.2 billion and make use of world's advanced technologies
to synthesize methanol. It is planned the first phase will be
put on stream in 2009.
   The 2.4 million t/a MTO project with a total investment of
RMB16.5 billion will be constructed by two phases. CNCEC and
Shaanxi Yiye Investment Co., Ltd. jointly invested the MTO
project.
