Raschig and Fengfan Jointly Launch Propane Sultone Project

Construction on the propane sultone project jointly funded by
Wuhan Fengfan Chemical Co., Ltd. and Raschig GmbH was started
in Yangluo Development Zone, Wuhan, Hubei province on April 5th,
2007. The project has a total investment of RMB100 million.
According to executives of this Sino-German joint venture fine
chemical project, Sinopec has decided to construct an 800 000
t/a ethylene project in Hongshan District of Wuhan, south of the
Yangluo Yangtze River Bridge. Yangluo Development Zone in the
north of the bridge is therefore chosen as the location of this
Sino-German joint venture fine chemical project to get raw
materials from the nearby ethylene project and reduce the
production cost.
The joint venture project is specialized in the production
of propane sultone and downstream high-tech chemical products
for the use in surface treatment, biomedicine, lithium cell and
dyeing/printing sectors. Steel processing, textile/clothes,
construction material and energy projects have rapidly
developed in Yangluo Development Zone in recent years.
