FPC Constructs 8 Million T/A Atmospheric Vacuum Unit

On April 12th, 2007 construction on the 8 million t/a atmospheric
vacuum refining unit was started in Fushun Petrochemical Company
Ltd. (FPC) located in Fushun, Liaoning province of Northeastern
China. As a leading unit of the refining and ethylene (from 200
thousand t/a to 1 million t/a)expansion  project of FPC, the 8
million t/a atmospheric vacuum unit will help to increase the
crude oil processing capacity in FPC to 11.5 million t/a.
   It is reported that on August 18th, 2006 the ground breaking
ceremony for the 11.5 million t/a refining and 1 million t/a
ethylene project was held in FPC. (CCR2006, No.25) After its
completion, more than 1 million tons of resins and chemicals per
year will be added.
