Montedison  will  build a  PP  Plant  in  China
Tecnimont, the engineering and constrction company of  the  Montedison  Group
, has  been  awarded  a  contract  for  the  constrction  of  a  50  000  t/a
polypropylene plant.
The plant, to be built at the Huabei Oil Field Chemical  Medicament  Factory,
Renqiu, Hebei Province, will  use  the  ew  generationSpheripol  process  of
Montell, a subsidiary of the Royal Dutch Shell Group.  Plant  production  is
scheduled to start towards the end of 2000.
The contract, entered into with  China  Petroleum  Technology  &  Development
Corporation , a company owned by state group China National  Petrolem  Corp,
includes the supply of licence, engineering  service,   main  equipment  and
materials, constrction and commissioning supervision.
In the last decade Tecnimont has set up as many as 9 plants  in  China,   all
based on  Montell  Spheripol  technology,   representing  a  total  capacity
exceeding 750 000 t/a which accounts for 60%  of    the  production  of  the
country.
