Sinovac Biotech Ltd. (Nasdaq: SVA), a leading China-based vaccine manufacturer, held a ceremony to start construction on a new vaccine base at Changping district, Beijing on March 3rd.
   Sinovac plans to set up two state-of-the-art production lines with a combined production capacity of 40 million doses per year, a filling and packaging line, a warehouse and an animal house at the Changping base in three years. For the construction of infrastructural facilities at the 29 000 square meter base, Sinovac prepared a budget of RMB120 million.  
   At the site, the Company will manufacture the enterovirus 71 (EV71) vaccine its other currently marketed flu vaccines. Sinovac Biotech Ltd. is a China-based biopharmaceutical company that focuses on vaccines.
